New 2020 year of the Spider, not the Rat
Greetings to all guests and regular readers. As always, I am with you, Mikhalych. I congratulate all the Chinese with the year of the metal Rat, and all the Slavs with the New Year of the spinning Mizgir, that is, Happy New Year of the Spider.
This post was born for a reason. I never understood why the Russians suddenly began to celebrate Halloween and New Years according to the Chinese calendar? What does the Chinese calendar have to do with the Slavs? Do we have our own traditions? Why did we decide to celebrate other people's holidays?
Who is Mizgir and a little of our history with you
Misgir is a spider that, like many others, spins its web to capture prey. The Slavs also have their own totem calendar, which has 16 totem animals, one for each year since the creation of the world.
I am sure that each of you at least once heard from your grandmothers, grandfathers or just acquaintances that you cannot kill spiders. So this knowledge comes from our ancient history, when the Slavs worshiped their natural gods.
The spider among the Slavs was considered a symbol of the genus and was a sacred creature. If a spider settled in a house, then this promised happiness and wealth. The spider in the center of the web was associated with a certain center of the universe.
Also, the spider in the house is considered the conductor of the knowledge of the Family and the sacred keeper of family ties. He is also a link between the world of Pravi, Yavi and Navi.
For those who do not know, Rule is the world of good Slavic Gods, Navi is the world of spirits and all otherworldly forces, not very good. Reveal is our world, in which the material incarnations of our souls live. The Slavs knew that these three worlds are inextricably linked.
To kill a spider meant to show disrespect and rejection of the deities of the two worlds, and in the real world you will definitely be punished for this. Believe it or not, everyone's personal business.
What does the year of spinning Misgir promise?
Everything here is a little difficult for an ordinary person to understand, but I will try to explain. The Slavs knew that the past, present and future exist simultaneously and it is through the spider that a connection occurs between generations within the genus.
The Slavs were looking forward to this year, as it was a year of reconciliation, unification and replenishment of the family. It was also a year of justice and summing up the results of the past 16-year cycle. That is, what you have sown before this time, you will reap in the coming year of Mizgir. Everyone will get what they deserve.
Years of spinning Mizgir according to the Slavic totem year: 1940; 1956; 1972; 1988; 2004 and 2020. People born in these years are distinguished by pronounced leadership qualities and a heightened sense of justice. The spider is supportive of creative people. He is not an adherent of quantity, but of quality. These people are considered to be the keepers of family traditions and traditions of their culture.
But, there are other qualities of the spider's character. The spider throws out and destroys everything that does not go according to the rules, not according to the law and to the detriment of the genus. The spider will not tolerate any undercover games, gossip, lies and vanity, he seeks to level everything around as much as possible and lead to balance.
Why do Slavs celebrate Chinese New Year?
Here I find it difficult to answer unequivocally, but I will express my assumption. It all started since the collapse of the Soviet Union, when various sources of information were opened for citizens. We suddenly learned that we are not only pioneers and Komsomol members, but also belong to different types of animals that dictate our characters and all that.
Horoscopes, fortune tellers, tarologists and other sorcerers appeared. In general, the fashion for obtaining a unique identity has gone, since everyone is tired of being a cog and another "comrade" in the Soviet party system. I wanted to be unique, different from others.
The flooding of the markets with Chinese products probably also played a role. If everything is Chinese, why not New Year? )) Chinese manufacturers of souvenir products are, of course, immensely happy and very grateful for the acceptance of their Chinese tradition by the Slavs, and at the same time gratitude in rubles.
And what about us, Slavs? Where are our traditions and ancestral knowledge? Is everything Chinese here too?
Perhaps I will end on this. Let's not forget our common history, our traditions. After all, they are also no worse than Chinese, Scandinavian or Sumerian.
Happy New Year everyone. Mialitch was with you. All Peace and Goodness in the New Year of the Spider and the metal rat)))
