We make a folding file from a clerical knife and a sheet for metal
I greet the readers and guests of the Kulibiny channel. Today, such a small and banal home-made product from a cloth for metal and a stationery knife. I do a lot of things all the time and very often there are situations when it is inconvenient to use an ordinary hacksaw, or it is simply not at hand. Therefore, I made myself such a mobile hacksaw from a cloth for metal and the body of an ordinary office knife.
I show you what and how, and you can decide for yourself whether you need it or not.
We remove the canvas from the hacksaw, the middle part has already become dull, like everyone else)) But we will use only half of this canvas.
Next, we take an ordinary clerical knife and take out the native blade from it. I already have a whole box of such knives, so I decided to use one for the right job.
The hole on the file is narrow and slightly elongated, so it does not fit on the retractable regulator of a clerical knife.
Well, this is not a problem, we take a drill and make a hole in the file with the diameter we need.
Now everything will be fine. We insert the blade into the knife body.
Next, we make a mark on the canvas at an angle, like on the native blade. Before this, slightly extend the blade, and be careful with the size so that the file is completely inserted into the knife body.
We clamp the file with two pliers, maintain the angle of the break and begin to bend the file. It bursts quickly.
That's all, the mobile retractable nail file is ready in the case of a stationery knife.
Checked on a PVC pipe, saws perfectly, especially if in a hard-to-reach place.
If your middle of the file on a hacksaw is dull, then you do not need to throw out the entire canvas, because the karayas are still quite suitable for use there.
I think it would be best to divide the worn-out nail file in half, make holes on the worn-out place for the holder of the clerical knife, and use the still sharp side of the blade for work. The photo showed where to make holes and divide the canvas.
And so it turns out that from one canvas you can make two files for a clerical knife. Here is such a squiggle turned out)))
I will finish. Peace and kindness to all. I am waiting for your thoughts on this in the comments.
