We make a vacuum cleaner for small debris powered by 12 volts
Greetings to all guests and subscribers on the Kulibina channel, and today we will make a mini-vacuum cleaner for a car from a plastic container and a fan for a computer. I beg your pardon, I don’t know how to make beautiful lyrical introductions, which means we are starting immediately to the manufacturing process.
For those who looked here for the first time, I warn you, this instruction is not an exact guide to action, but only gives an idea that everyone can take as a basis.
And so, for the manufacture of a vacuum cleaner, we take a plastic container with a capacity of 1.5-2 liters. It is quite enough for garbage collection in the car.
Next, you need a regular 12 Volt fan, such as is used in computers. The power of the vacuum cleaner itself depends on the power of the fan, I think this is understandable.
It is important that the fan has a protective grill, as shown in the photo.
Now we need to fit this fan onto the top cover of the plastic container. We attach it to the cover and mark with a marker the inner diameter of the fan itself, as well as the holes for fastening.
Cut a hole in the container lid. It is important that the hole is offset to one edge of the cover, as shown in the photo.
Now we mount the fan itself. We attach the cooler case on the outside of the lid, and attach the metal protective grill from the inside. We tighten all this with screws that come with the cooler.
The photo below shows the installation of a 12 volt connector. Here the wires from the fan were soldered to the contacts of the plug, but I will not bother like that. You can choose any other plug that best suits your conditions.
You will get such a cover design.
And by the way, the fan is important. It runs on a conventional car battery, only you need a fan with two wires, conditionally a phase and zero.
There are fans with three wires, where there is a phase and zero, and the third wire is responsible for regulating the speed, which is controlled by the computer's motherboard. Often, such a fan from a battery or does not work at all, or works at minimum speed.
Next, we make such a frame from wire, which will repeat as accurately as possible the inner cut of the container.
We glue a mosquito net on the metal frame, which will act as a filter for large particles.
The mesh is attached simply using a tube of super glue.
We cut off the excess part of the mesh, but leave a margin of 2-3 cm along the edges of the metal frame.
Now we install the frame with the mesh into the container body with an offset to one side and glue it to the body with an ordinary glue gun.
Then the wheels for the vacuum cleaner were made, but I think this is already superfluous. A purely aesthetic problem. Two lengths of a regular ink stick from a gel pen, with a sewing pin inserted into one end.
Further, here are such plastic wheels, which were probably removed from a children's toy)))
In general, the rods from the handle act as an axle for the wheel, and the axle itself is attached with glue to the body of the vacuum cleaner. A funny idea with wheels, but here it is already)))
Well, it is clear that the usual corrugation for a bathroom or a mixer under the sink. It is not necessary to take exactly the same as in the photo, just a corrugated tube without all the bells and whistles is enough.
In the container body we make a hole for the corrugation. The hole is made from the side of the small compartment of the vacuum cleaner.
For sealing, fill the joint with a glue gun. Theoretically, it should hold.
Next, we put the lid with the cooler on the container body and our vacuum sucker is ready. You will end up with about the same nonsense as in the photo below.
Now we connect the 12 volt power supply. I recommend making several connection options, one from the outlet via the power supply, and the other from the car battery.
We turn on the vacuum cleaner and collect any small debris from any surface.
From myself, I can add that the idea is quite decent, but I would make it much easier. If desired, you can make a full-fledged vacuum cleaner from this if you add water to the container and make a partition that protects the cooler from water and at the same time directs the flow of dust from the hose to the water. In general, there is enough room for imagination.
Well, that's all. I look forward to your comments with ideas on the usefulness of this thing and options for improving it.
And with you was Mikhalych, all Peace and Good.
