Making a useful tool for welders
Hello to all DIYers, and especially welders. I must say right away that I myself am not a particularly welder, of course I have an apparatus, but I use it exclusively in the summer season. Boil racks for cucumbers, and so on little things. Recently I saw one interesting tool from old pliers, which I really liked and sometimes I can't do without it.
In short, the essence is as follows. We take old pliers and clean them from rust, lubricate and pace well.
Then we take a metal corner with a shelf of 3 cm. In your case, it can be more or less, depending on your needs. We measure out a segment 12-15 cm long and make a cutout in it as shown in the photo.
You need two such corners with cutouts, one for each lip with pliers.
If you add them up, then you get such a thing. If there is no corner, then you can dissolve the profile pipe accordingly.
We weld these corners to the pliers as shown in the photo.
Now with such a device it is convenient to clamp a profile pipe for welding two sections. Moreover, the pipe can be larger than the corners themselves.
We make potholders through the cut hole, and then remove the pliers and weld them well. You can also cook rods in the same way.
In short, if you work alone, then sometimes such a thing really helps out.
What do dear homemade products think about this? I look forward to your feedback in the comments.
