My wood concrete house is the best! A short story and a big photo report about village happiness
“The village is power, it's a completely different life! Strive to the village and gain! " - so wrote on FORUMHOUSE a participant with the nickname Uncle. And when he started to build his house from wood concrete, he did not even plan to sell the city apartment...
How it all started
It was like this - they were looking for land in the village, so that there would be transport, a shop, pleasant neighbors and good roads. Such a site was found, but with a house built in the fifties that burned down almost to the ground. Over the winter, all the documents were drawn up, thoroughly prepared. Well, then: technical education, the experience of the construction team, the good taste of my wife and the support of friends allowed me to assert myself and start construction, which ultimately changed my life!
The choice fell on the wood concrete block
They decided to build a one-storey and small house: a kitchen combined with a living room, a bedroom, an office, a boiler room, a bathroom and a toilet; but with a rafter system prepared under the attic - you never know how life will turn out. I wanted everything to look inconspicuous and modest from the outside, but inside it was very comfortable. The material of the walls was chosen immediately: wood concrete, because it is light, durable, dense, does not require insulation and is well plastered.
How was the construction
Sewerage and water pipes were laid in the 12 * 8 m foundation slab, cable entries were made. The laying of the blocks began two weeks after the foundation was poured: the geometry of the blocks is excellent, so very smooth walls turned out. The laying took two weeks.
The rafter system was planned so that the supports of the rafter legs in the future would easily become the walls of the attic. The roof is soft tiles. The house was plastered in three days - it turned out to be a smooth and light surface.
At the construction site I had to take pauses in order to "save up some money", I had to redo something, change something on the go. But now I am very glad that I have decided to finally get rid of city life, "sell an apartment - and end up in the water."
You quickly get used to good things: I have a "place of power" in the backyard where you can sit in the evening with a guitar; excellent workshop; hot healing bath. It never came to the attic - it turned out that a hundred squares for a small family are enough for a happy life. In the end, I will summarize: my wood concrete house is the best - I'm happy!
