Making a heater out of a cardboard box
Greetings, comrades inventors. Today I present to your attention a space heater made of scrap materials. I must say right away that a homemade product is not entirely reliable in terms of fire safety, but it is quite possible to consider the idea itself.
We need a computer cooling fan with a protective grill. We take a sheet from a cardboard box, attach the fan grill to the front side.
Next to the fan grill, we make a hole for the switch. In principle, you don't need to put it. Just connect everything directly and don't bother.
Now we put the box together. The photo shows that in the back wall of the box there are two holes cut out according to ordinary incandescent lamps, from which we will receive heat.
Now on to the insides. Here in the center of the box on a stand is a cooler driven by an electric motor. According to the author's idea, all this is connected with wires so as to provide power to the fan from a Krone battery.
I'll tell you from myself. That the system is too complicated. I can still understand the power supply of the fan from the battery, but what prevented me from putting a standard fan, which already comes with a motor, and not using any stands and separate electric motors.
The inner surface of the box is covered with foil, which will reflect the heat of the lamp from the box.
Further, cartridges with incandescent lamps are installed in the box. Lamps are powered separately from a 220 volt outlet.
Putting the body together. The author glues it together using Chinese snot.
Here I also did not quite understand, why cut the finished box in order to then reassemble the box from the pieces? Well, okay, as I did, I did it. Cut a hole in the back of the box for fresh air.
This is what the finished invention looks like.
In general, what can I say. The idea is very good, but the implementation is disgusting. The most important thing is fire safety, which is a big question with such a heater.
How can the device be upgraded? I would make a case out of plywood, hang some coolers from the computer, which can also be coated with silver to reflect heat. Power the cooler through a power supply, and that one from a common cable with lamps, so as not to be smart with a separate battery.
And I think that ordinary foil will not be enough, the case will warm up even if you put 100 cotton lamps. You can use something more reliable for internal insulation.
I am looking forward to your comments regarding such a heater. Just do not write about the quality of performance, and it is clear that "not a fountain". I am interested in your opinion about the idea itself.
