Do not throw the banks away! Practical homemade containers

Throwing away the bottle and can would be, of course, the easiest thing to do, but the desire to benefit has won out, so I have something to tell you, friends and guests of the channel. More than one useful thing can be made of these two containers, but in view of the scarcity of the necessary bottle resources, I will limit myself to a couple for now. Go!

Plastic bottle any will not work, it is desirable to find a straight or almost straight, in diameter close to the diameter of an aluminum can. For cans 0.5 l some bottles fit 0.7 l and high straight on 1 las in my case. I cut off the bottom of the bottle and place the jar in the bottle under the very neck.

If the diameter of the bottle turns out to be too large, at the next stage it will result in irreparable defects, which will force it to simply be thrown away.

I dip the bottle together with the jar placed inside into boiling water. It is advisable to do less fire, since the process is difficult to control. The bottle almost immediately begins to shrink and gradually squeeze the jar, but if you overdo it, the plastic will crush the jar into an accordion, therefore

need to stop in time and remove the bottle from the boiling water.

After cooling, I cut the protruding edges of the bottle from below with a construction knife. The same had to be done on the top. However, if you cut off the bottom and leave the top (the neck with the lid), you will get an excellent sealed bottle, and fashionable, capable of reliably retaining the gases contained in the drink.

So you can store open and unfinished beer and any soda for a long time. And in a metal can, the remaining drink cools much faster.

Another stage of work on the way to obtaining a glass is grinding the rim along the top of the can. This is necessary to separate the top cap from the main container. Grinding with an emery tool on a drill takes up to 5 minutes, but manually you have to work hard minutes 10-15.

Then the top cover comes off freely, leaving a slightly uneven edge of the aluminum rim, which is corrected with a fine-grained sandpaper. As a result, we get a glass with increased wall strength, which will come in handy at home and outdoors for any liquid product.

The picture shows two finished versions. It turns out that after shrinking, you just need to choose which one you need - a glass or a bottle - and then cut the plastic accordingly. I choose both! What do you think?
