This drainage mechanism worked for about 5 years, which is not bad by today's standards. After such a period, the tank fittings often have to be completely changed, but I am trying to repair it.

After shutting off the water supply tap and unscrewing the drain button, you can remove the tank lid and do a little analysis of the situation.

If unclosed tank constantly gurgles and water flows endlessly into the toilet, then, most likely,

broken intake mechanism, which in this case is located on the side of the tank. In this case, water may overflow into the toilet through the top of the large white tube in the center. If the water level does not reach its top, then the cause of the breakdown escapement mechanism, which stands in the middle. In my situation, it was just the latter.

I need to pull out this whole mechanism by grabbing it with my hand and turning it slightly at the base by 20-30 degrees counterclockwise. The base remains at the bottom as it is screwed to the bottom of the tank. The detached mechanism has a large rubber gasket at the bottom that either clogged or has production.

You should not rush to throw it away, since often it is enough to rinse the gum and put it back. It is the layer of dirt that can interfere with the normal overlap of the drain and cause leaks.

First, I washed the gasket and again tried to put it in the tank, but the flushing did not help, then it’s a matter of working out. I had to take an old rubber band and go to a plumbing store and find a similar one.

The seller offered a whole set. The main thing was choose a gasket with the same inner diameterso that it sits normally on the drain tube. Outside diameter may vary. If it is larger, this is not a problem, since the wider edge will even better block the drain hole. I gave for the gasket 35 rubles.

As you can see from the picture, the new and old gaskets differ slightly in size. It remains only to correctly put the new sample in place. When installing on the tube, you should not push the rubber band too much, as this may also cause a leak. If so, then I recommend pull the gasket down a little.
