This is a "fan"! Only blade 66 m

During a recent trip I saw a huge kind of "fans" - parts Primorskaya wind farm (Zaporozhye region. Ukraine) with a height of under 100 meters each, which stand almost on the shore of the Azov Sea. The station was put into operation in 2019, that is, just a couple of months ago and produces up to 200 MW of power. I learned some interesting facts about her, which I share.

The station is about 25 km away from the resort town of Berdyansk, so in good weather the masts with huge rotating blades are clearly visible even from the city.

In summer, the blades were transported on long platforms attached to tractors in whole columns, which was not easy for other vehicles to overtake. They, depending on the model, have a length of 55-66 meters and a weight of about 12 tons!

Even if taken to a minimum, the diameter of rotation of the blades comes out 112 meters away taking into account the dimensions of the gearbox shaft mounting. An even larger figure was shown in the slide at the presentation - 137 meters away.

All masts are lined up in orderly rows on both sides highway M-14 (Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk). If you wish, you can drive up to them very close. A total of 52 huge rigs were installed, at least 98.5 m high + blade height.

The main bearing alone weighs 8 tons, but the transmission together with the gearbox will generally tighten 28 tons.

I thought that at the top of each installation there is an operator, but in fact, a dispatcher located in the administrative center of one of the villages is responsible for managing the entire system. I just don't know exactly how a person, if necessary, climbs to the top of the mast, which is hollow inside. I think there is a lift there.

It took more than 1000 cubic meters of concrete to fill the platform for one tower!
