New building material: block curtain facade
When you have been studying technologies and building materials for several years, you think that you know about almost all noteworthy building materials on the market. It turns out that some interesting new items appear. The facade system (below in the description) came from the construction markets of Canada and the Czech Republic. Called: facade hinged system NovaBrik
As you can see, it is very easy to mount. Blocks 200x200 mm in size with a working front part of 200x100 mm are assembled as a constructor. Available in 16 colors. The installation speed of such a facade is higher than according to the classic facing brick scheme. No wet works - no mortar needed. And the facade is also ventilated.
In addition to the NovaBrik system, in our country a similar hinged facade system is also represented by the Scanroc and Ronson brands. But we will consider them in the next part.
In terms of its structure, this material is made using the technology of hyper-pressed bricks, only in its special geometry.
A house with this facade is immediately transformed, it looks solid and not trite like a brick. The service life of such material is at least 50 years. It all depends on how long the wooden guides on the wall will last (if you use them to reduce the cost). You can mount such a facade alone. It only takes 1-2 sections of scaffolding. The process is not complicated:
Front material thickness - 60mm (without frame). Weight 1 m2 - 130 kg. There are subtleties when installing corner elements. But anyone can figure it out, even without construction experience.

When looking for information about the cost of this facade material, I saw that the novabrik.ru site was closed. Their VK group is also not active. Found information that for 2016. the cost of the material was: from $ 30 / m2.

Maybe the plant in the Russian Federation is still working. I believe that such material can be produced by any manufacturer of vibro-pressed paving stones and that hyper-pressed brick. And there are quite a few of them throughout the country.
Analogue of the NovaBrik facade material - tongue-and-groove brick:
The view is not worse, the installation principle is the same. The only difference is that the facade element is smaller in area - for the size of a brick, not a block.
The advantage of this system: the facade is lighter than that of classic bricks, there is no wet work, the masonry is not afraid of deformations and movements (cracks do not form as in brickwork). It is possible to mount a ventilated curtain wall on the walls of any house (with support on the foundation). Installation - year-round.
The cost of the material on the manufacturer's website. The price is the same as for a quality facing brick. But to make high-quality masonry from classic bricks, you need an experienced bricklayer. And the masonry process is not so fast. And here you install yourself, saving on the cost of work.
I think this material will be more interesting than basement siding for finishing the foundations of frame houses on screw piles. Installation of corners is carried out with trimming elements for 45 gr. The manufacturer does not produce corner elements as in NovaBrik.
It seemed to me that an interesting material with an excellent aesthetic appearance, simplicity and speed of installation and not high cost. I think the price is less RUB 1,500 / m2 for a stone facade - it is not that expensive. Provided that you do everything yourself, because there is nothing complicated here. If such material appears in our region, I will dwell on it in my choice.
