House-hut or A-house. Beautiful and inexpensive do-it-yourself frame
In this article: Inexpensive and beautiful house for temporary residence. Description of construction and cost touched upon the topic of temporary housing. Temporary housing is not in a building shed, but in a building with a more or less aesthetic appearance. With the information in this article, I would like to continue the topic of inexpensive suburban housing that I have begun.
Frame technology is one of the most popular house building technologies in our time. In the USA and Canada, this is generally the leading technology for the second hundred years. We will not dive into the pros and cons of the choice, but consider one of the simplest structures of a frame house - a tent house. Or an A-shaped house.
A domed house is not the cheapest (and even more simple) frame frame. We were convinced of this here
An A-frame house or a hut house looks like this:
This concept, style, technology (call it what you want) - came to us like much from the West. And for every type of housing there are people who want to implement it. Examples of such houses appear in Russia.
This is an example of an A-house built in Russia. Outwardly, it is not sick, but inside it is very spacious. Two rooms on the second floor. The first floor is, as a rule, a living room with a kitchen, a bathroom and some other room. Quite enough area for recreation and even permanent residence of a family of 3-4 people.
I propose to briefly go through the construction technology and find out the cost of such a house.
As a rule, the frame is installed on a columnar or pile foundation. Screw piles for such a medium-sized house, as in the example above - from 100 thous. outside the field. DIY bored - up to 50 thous. rub. Columnar from blocks - generally a penny, but its reliability is not great. But this pile or columnar foundation will have to be insulated around the perimeter and sheathed with decorative material. Floors - also do with insulation and a mesh from mice. The total cost is even higher.
I would lay the UWB thick 20 cm. This is a maximum of 100 thousand rubles. for a base area of 6x10m (if you do everything yourself). This will allow you to economically heat the house with warm floors from an electric boiler. Plus temperature control function. When needed, they turned it down (via the phone), before arrival (1-2 days in advance), they added the temperature in the house. With a two-tariff power consumption scheme, you can still save money by consuming electricity at night.
For backup heating and suburban comfort, you can fold a small fireplace stove (with a large glass door).
The frame of the house - boards, mounted in the shape of the letter "A". If the house is small, then perhaps their standard length of 6m will be enough. Usually spliced. It all depends on the project. The project is not complicated - you can draw it yourself in SketchUp. You will know each size and this will avoid mistakes.
If you don't want to count and draw, you can find a project for such a house. There are also suggestions
Insulation, steam-wind insulation - everything is like in a classic frame house. If the floors are wooden, a rodent net under the floors is required. The roof is at your discretion. Here you can calculate everything so that by purchasing a metal roof you don't have to cut anything. Even a profiled sheet can look good, not to mention a click-fold.
Interiors are also a matter of taste and convenience. But for such houses, a good option is with a second light. When there is no ceiling above the living room. And the bedroom is also light, because the light comes through the panoramic windows on the first floor. By the way, without dormers in such a house it can be dark. Think over the location of the entrance - it should be on the south side and the windows should be panoramic in this place, to the floor.
Let's move on to the cost. If you do everything yourself, the cost will be incomparably lower by 1.5-2 times. In order to focus on the price level from companies who build frame houses, here is their approximate level (depending on the area):
But don't console yourself - these are just power farms made from dried and treated wood. The website states that a complete set of a house with an area 75 m2 (with foundation, roof, windows and interior decoration), the company will install 1.7-2 million rub. In principle, the cost is the same as for a conventional frame structure.
Therefore, I think that it is easier to order dried wood from them (not assembled frame) and build it yourself. Or dry it yourself to natural moisture for the season. You can build such a house of 75 m2 with your own hands for 500-700 thous. Full construction.
More about the advantages of this type of house.
- An ordinary two-story frame is still difficult and without experience there can be difficulties and mistakes. And this option (if you are satisfied with the view) is built by two builders according to a drawing with dimensions. No complicated project needed.
- A-houses look equally good in almost any area. At least 30m3, at least 150m2. A frame with walls of a small area cannot be built - it will look like a change house or a woodshed.
- A hut house is still cheaper than an ordinary frame frame due to the fact that the roof is the house. The facade is the roof. Those. the amount of building materials that would go to the roof of a classic frame house is used as sloped walls in A-houses. On this and the savings.
These houses look good, they also look attractive as buildings for recreation centers:

Having studied this information, I came to the understanding that now I would probably build just such a small-area country house instead of a log bath. Maybe I wouldn't have saved anything, but I would have got a beautiful-looking building with a larger total area (rooms on the second floor). Experience comes with time. So study technologies and construction options, their pros and cons ...
