Eternal light bulb from a plastic bottle without electricity

click fraud protection

This method is suitable for illumination and illumination of dark (without windows), unheated rooms such as storerooms, woodsheds, change houses in the daytime. Alas, the method does not work at night - you need daylight sunlight. Let's see what kind of simple and at the same time brilliant invention.

In short: a hole has been made in the roof and a transparent plastic water bottle is inserted into it. The junction of the bottle and the roof is sealed with silicone sealant. Sunlight, falling and refracting in the bottle, scatters in it and goes out into the room. On a sunny day, such a bottle glows like an incandescent light bulb with a power 40-60 W, which is enough to illuminate dark buildings without windows. But there is a little secret ...

This ingenious invention has an author, his name is Alfredo Moser. He lives in Brazil. Now this invention (for which, by the way, he did not receive anything - he just gave it to people in poor quarters of Brazil) - they call Moser lamps.

The method quickly spread throughout the world among the poor (in the same Brazil, Argentina, Indonesia, Bangladesh, India), who in a warm climate essentially live in windowless barracks. The Brazilian came up with this design in 2002, when electricity was cut off almost every day in his town of Uberaba and residents were left in the dark in their modest homes.

To maintain the efficiency of this solar lamp, the water must remain clear. But in hot climates this cannot be done. A. Moser just added a little bleach to the bottle and the water stopped turning green. Any chlorine-containing substance can be added.

A few photos of the premises of the Indonesian residents, illuminated by the Moser lamp:

Imagine the joy of the poor who have lived in darkness for decades. There are no windows in the premises due to the hot climate - the sun will quickly heat the home and it will be like in a sauna. And this method illuminates and inside the direct sunlight does not heat anything. In some countries, this method of illuminating their home is called "Liter of light".

A video with a brief demonstration of what is a godsend for the poorest neighborhoods of the world.

This way, not only dwellings are illuminated, but also many warehouse and commercial premises in Indonesia and other countries. The savings on electricity are small, but a significant amount can accumulate in a year.

This method can also be applied in our climate in those cases when it is necessary to illuminate, for example, the entrance to the basement, the woodshed, etc. These buildings, as a rule, are always without windows, but light in them will not interfere. And even more so if it's free. Only securely seal the bottle joint on the roof and under the roof with sealant.

I do not know how this solar lamp shines in cloudy weather. Of course, the luminous flux falls, but the light from the bottle should still be present. In winter, when the water freezes, it will not greatly interfere with the light scattering indoors. The main thing is to leave some free space in the bottle. water expands when it freezes.
