Heating the house with free pellets. My version of their production

I have long wanted to write an article on this topic describing a small business idea. And my colleague on the topic from the channel I build for myself pushed to this. IN his article he gave calculations of the profitability of the production of pellets for heating with his own hands.

He showed that buying a granulator and bringing in sawdust is not so profitable, there will be savings, but not so significant. I do not agree with his calculation on all points, but on the whole the calculation is correct. If purchased raw materials (sawdust) and paid delivery, then the project is not very interesting. But if you import free raw materials (sawdust is given away for nothing) with your equipment, then the costs are minimal.

I propose to look at this idea from the other side. You can not only minimize (or even eliminate) costs by receiving free pellets for heating, but also get a profit from the project. If you don't believe it, let's imagine the situation and calculate.

It is necessary to find a production that is large enough for the production of sawn timber, where a lot of sawdust accumulates without their further processing. Sometimes such waste is burned in special furnaces, simply given away or sold for a nominal fee to other places (where pellets are made for heating).

Production should not be far from the city (no more than 50 km). Otherwise, it will reduce the number of customers. Okay, let's say we found such a production. Then we offer them a partnership: You purchase equipment at your own expense and install it on the territory of the sawmill. The base should have a covered place for installing the equipment - next to the sawdust storage area. Or the base itself, as an investment, for its part, builds a small canopy (they always have lumber). Approximate price for equipment:

It is optimal to purchase Nightingale-1m. Russian production - no problems with repair. This model will allow the production of 500-1000 kg pellets per shift. One month before 22 t pellets. Will there be such a volume of sawdust? The mass of sawdust in production should be from 30 t / month. Probably, such a volume may not be produced by production.

Suppose 10-15 tons / month - this is their average output for sawdust. With the average cost of pellets in Krasnoyarsk 6 thousand / t, the gross profit will be approximately 60 thous. rub. But from this amount, you need to subtract the salary of the worker and electricity. Let's say salary per shift is 1.5 thousand. rub. And on average, wage costs will be 30 thous. rub.

Electricity: 5.5 kWh. 7 hours of work per shift. Approximately 2300 RUB / month for electricity. Let's round up to 3 thous. rub. Plus bags - about 2000 rubles / month

Total, approximately 35 thous. rub. Are costs, 25 thous. - profit. Ideally, if you agree with the owner of the sawmill to split the profit in half. There is one more consumable - a matrix for a granulator. Resource 150 tons or about a year of work. Average cost 5 thousand. rub. (400 rubles / month. - additional expenses).

12 thousand / month - for the production of lumber - this is a tiny amount. But. Here the whole situation pulls pluses for them:

• sawdust is recycled at a profit.
• clients who will come for pellets can become clients of the base, purchase lumber.
• the equipment can be used to produce pellets with a different purpose: animal feed, for example.

If the equipment will often stand idle due to a lack of sawdust, you can granulate animal feed on it (with additives, according to the recipe). The volume may be small, but more significant in finance than pellets.

But what about the title of the article: free home heating? You invested ~ 75 thousand. rub. into equipment, while it was possible to purchase the same pellets for two years in advance.

Well, first of all, the equipment doesn't disappear anywhere. At most, it may require minor repairs. Even if you have to pick it up for some reason, you can find another production and agree there.

Secondly, within a year, you make a profit. Even if the contract is 30% to 70% not in your favor, then the profit is 8 thousand / month. will allow you to recoup your investment in a year. And from the second year, the funds will be saved for the purchase of pellets.

But there is an even more interesting scheme. If you are not afraid to work with your hands, then you can agree with the owner of the base that you will come on one of the weekends and, in the presence of sawdust, produce pellets for yourself. Here the costs are only electricity (metering, which will need to be installed separately - the shield assembly is 2-3 thousand rubles).

Having a trailer, you can make and transfer 500 kg of pellets per day. In frosts, you need 1 ton of pellets per month for an automatic boiler. For the winter - an average of 6 tons. I'm talking about Siberian winters. In the European part, the volume of consumed pellets can be only 3 tons per winter. Those. You need two days off a month and devote 6 months to such work.

Ideally, to make it as easy as possible to work, you need this line:

Shown is the pellet feed and cooling line. But the pellets can be cooled on a concrete floor with a fan. In winter they will be cooled down without forced cooling. The filling of granules through a screw feed is also optional. It will not affect the employee's salary savings.

Of course, the article is just a business idea. But I can say that there are dozens of similar bases with sawmills around each city. And not everyone thought of using production waste. The main thing in this topic is the ability to come to an agreement and fix agreements on paper. Be sure to sign the contract. Do not think that there are no ownerless sawdust.
