I did not change all incandescent bulbs to LED ones. I explain the reason

When I was doing repairs in my apartment 10 years ago, LED lamps were still quite expensive and I chose incandescent lamps for spotlights. Their biggest drawbacks are high power consumption and they often burn out.

Several years ago I decided that in those chandeliers and spotlights that we use every child, to save money, you should still replace the lamps with LED ones. But not everywhere.

The lighting in the hall has 16 lamps and is switched on almost every evening. Consumption on incandescent lamps was decent before replacement: 16x35 W = 560 W. And now 16x3 W = 48 W

LED lamps also burn out, but much less often. Not often, but it does happen. Maybe the capacitors overheat and dry out in the driver, maybe something else. But since they have a 3-year warranty, then during this time construction networks or electrical stores change them without finding out the reason. Sometimes, when I exchange, I bought the next batch of LED lamps.

Here you can see another disadvantage of incandescent lamps - the heat from them goes out into the cracks and a dirty coating is visible on the paint under the lamp. The ceiling needs repair.

So almost everything was replaced, except for three places:

Here I did not do this for the reason that this lighting does not turn on so often. I considered that it was necessary to develop the resource of old incandescent lamps. These are lighting fixtures and they must work off the money spent on them. Therefore, when an incandescent lamp in a room or bathroom burns out, I change it to the same one from the stock.

The bathroom has an incandescent light switch. But it also does not save 100% from burnout. It would not hurt to replace the lamps here, but then all the incandescent lamps will lie dead weight. How are incandescent lamps with an E27 base now?

The main reason why I am not changing lamps in this room is in calculating the ROI of LED lamps in this room. We have 10 incandescent lamps 35 W each as additional lighting (the main one is a chandelier of three LED lamps). The lighting is made of gypsum plasterboard. And it, in turn, for the purpose of insulating the ceiling around the perimeter of the room (since the last floor) and preventing the appearance of freezing in frosts (there was such a problem). It turns on rarely. 3-5 hours a month. Those. total average consumption - 1.75 kW / month. In rubles - this is the maximum RUB 4.5

With LED lighting (3W / bulb), the consumption will be 150W / month. with the same rare use. In rubles: maximum 50 kopecks The cost of replacing lamps with LED: RUB 500-600 The payback period in this place is 12 years. Therefore, I see no reason to change it in this room.

Let me summarize. To save money on electricity, I replaced the lamps with LEDs where we use lighting often, every day. Where the lighting is rarely turned on (backlight) - incandescent lamps remain and change when burnout to the same, until the stock is over, formed when changing lamps to LED in other rooms.

Have you replaced all the bulbs at once? Where have old incandescent bulbs been used? Are they lying around?
