I was surprised what dorms modern students live in [real photos]

Recently I had a chance to visit a new dormitory of one university: the dormitory of the Siberian Federal University (Siberian Federal University - TOP-15 universities of the Russian Federation). All new dormitories were built here for the 2019 Universiade. Athletes, guests, and others lived in them. After the sporting event, the buildings were transferred to the educational institution for students to live in.

My relative was lucky - she was settled in one of the best rooms in the building. Rather, this is not even a room - in fact, it is a large one-room apartment. Of course, they provided just such housing for a reason, but for the highest USE score when entering the Civil Engineering Institute (passing mark in 2019 was 212). Those. excellent students live in such rooms.

As a student who lived for six years in a student hostel at the end of the 90s and visited different hostels at that time, I have something to compare with. The impression from what he saw is pleasant.

I propose to look at the conditions in which future engineers, designers of construction specialties live:

A whole microdistrict was built on the territory of the university (and construction continues - construction of a building for foreign students has begun). The entire territory is fenced and under video surveillance (security requirements before the Universiade). There is no traffic between the buildings.

Tesla Village. Apparently, so that foreigners, athletes of the Universiade would more easily remember their place of temporary residence. By analogy with the name, there are not enough electric vehicles for plying from educational buildings or from the entrances to the territory of hostels.

Hall. Modest but spacious and clean. High ceilings are good. I remember the ceilings of my dormitory, where you could reach the ceiling with your hand.

The corridor on the floor and the access to the elevators are just like in an ordinary high-rise building.

We fall into the room-apartment. Entrance to the room itself and the kitchen. Pay attention that not cheap doors are installed. In modern new buildings, the doors are much more modest.

A huge room for two with a pantry (two girls live). In the old days, four people would have been accommodated in such an area. There were three of us living on 12 m2 in a hostel at one time. One bed was a bunk bed. And here the total area is under 40 m2. Lighting - LED panels. No ever-burning bulbs.

Huge kitchen - at least 12 m2. Judging by the tile apron - according to the project, a large kitchen was to be installed here. In this they still saved. Linoleum is of high quality everywhere. I did not see in it the squeezed marks from the chairs. Furniture, curtains, kitchen utensils - everything is official. The bathroom is small, but tiled up to the level of 1.8 m. There is a washing machine.

Well, one more bonus of the rooms on this side of the building is two balconies with an excellent view of a part of Krasnoyarsk. The dacha sector adjoins the SFU territory, which brings a certain contrast to the picture. But the view is still better than windows to windows. This is the view on this side of the case. On the other side of the microdistrict there is a pine forest 10 minutes walk. A place with excellent ecology in the west of the city, far from thermal power plants and factories.

Accommodation is not free. Pay a little more RUB 1000 But with an excellent student's scholarship, you can also pay the student himself (its size from RUB 6300 and higher). Social scholarship - slightly higher 2000 RUB Compared to renting an apartment with a similar area (from 13 thous. rubles) - an order of magnitude difference. And to the educational building - 5 minutes walk. No morning traffic jams and crowds on the buses.

Educational buildings are equipped with modern educational and scientific equipment: all lecture halls and laboratories. I know firsthand, tk. personally participated in projects for the supply of a part of equipment to SFU under government contracts (until 2011). For example, the installation of an observatory. But that is another story…

Of course, this beauty and comfort does not apply to all hostels of different universities in Krasnoyarsk. In some places, the picture has not changed for decades. But there is always a choice when entering. And the desire to live and study in such a place is an additional motivation. Maybe this article will push someone from Siberian school graduates to the final choice of their future specialty.
