The homemade product helped to easily transfer the sizes of the ottoman loops. And no need to memorize numbers
Recently I made two ottomans out of old furniture that the neighbors wanted to throw out, cut sheets and twisted boxes, installed hinges and legs on one, and left the other for later. Today I decided to fix this situation and fix the loops on the second, and for this I decided to use my old homemade product, which is called marking gauge. (Scrolling through the gallery).
Homemade planer
I made it from two bars, a metal ruler and a screw, by the way, I was faced with such a moment that the width of the ruler turned out to be with a difference of half a millimeter at the edges.
Because of this, it gets a little stuck in the groove, so if you are going to make such a tool, when choosing a ruler, take a caliper with youto measure. It never occurred to me, that's it.
Transferring dimensions
It is very convenient to work with such a simple device, I bring the ruler to the loop, and I rest the body against the edge, then I fix it with a screw and transfer the size to another product. (Scrolling through the gallery).
It is very convenient and you don’t need to measure anything with a tape measure or a ruler, memorize the size numbers, fix and transfer, as you did without it before, it is not clear.
Result
I cut the hinges, but did not install the legs, because people convinced me to install the ottomans on casters.
I still have to sheathe them, put some foam rubber, but this is the next time.
Some may ask what is so surprising about it? My answer is nothing, just xhotel share and recommend making this simple toolit is worth it and is easy to make.
