I remembered that I saw how they solve such a problem with the help of a cut plastic card, the main thing is that there is a gap where you can stick it. It is important to hook the latch with the plastic over the edge with which it rests against the counter plate.

Sometimes, for this it is necessary to widen the gap between the box and the canvas, but this must be done carefully in order to save the door. Forged with a chisel, then inserted an ax, and grabbed it with an impromptu master key, the latch tongue "went" into the canvas and the door opened.

It remains for me to cut off the faulty latch with a grinder so that the situation does not repeat itself. By the way, while he was walking to the godfather, he had already begun to "chicken" the canvas and the door frame, it's a pity, but fixable, it's better in such cases not to rush, you can always manage to break it.
