Tiles fall off: reasons, solutions. How to glue the fallen off tiles to the old place
90% of the quality of the repair depends on the correct preparation of the base. Tiles may fall off after a while or have been recently pasted. Different situations can be the cause. Perhaps the finish is falling off due to wall shrinkage or poor quality glue.
If, after the repair, voids form in the adhesive layer and when their area is higher than 10%, then most likely the tile will fall off from the base. It is impossible to apply glue to tiles in a dotted manner. Only over the entire surface and further leveling with a notched trowel.
An insufficient layer of glue or its excess is also the cause. It may be that the walls or other base are not even and are trying to level everything with the thickness of the glue.
If the walls are concrete, then it is better to prime them with concrete contact. In the past, they made grooves on the substrate instead so that there was good adhesion to the tiles. If the base is made of sheet material, then it is important to choose an elastic adhesive.
The tiles must be laid on a dried-out Rotband.
Some tilers are in a hurry and think that this is not so important and that a primer will solve all problems. However, it is not. As a result, the tiles will fall off immediately after the repair. When we had a renovation in the bathroom, the tiler made us turn on the heater in a breeze so that the walls dried faster. Only then the tiles were laid. Result in 2 years - the tiles are firmly in place. See repair history in my flat.
If the walls in the bathroom are made of GVLV and after a while the tiles crack and come off, it means that the base was not prepared.
It was necessary to achieve the rigidity of the frame from the profile and make waterproofing before installing the tiles.
If you have to glue on crumbling plaster, then you can use a serpyanka mesh, and then only the tiles.
Is it possible to glue fallen tiles
It happens that one or three tiles have fallen off. Try tapping everyone else. If the knock is dull (tile coils), you will have to redo everything again. If you have moved away from the base a little, and others hold well, then you can glue them back with glue titanium or silicone. Universal adhesive Titanium is applied in a thin layer and adheres tightly to any substrate. In this case, you do not need to beat off the remnants of glue on the wall.
