They use different insulation materials: Penoplex, Styrofoam, Penoizol, Technoplex and even expanded clay. How does the last of them feel and is it suitable for a blind area? Some builders will now say that this material does not work in the ground. Let's take a look.
Expanded clay is often used to insulate various parts of the building. It is fireproof, affordable, lightweight material. It keeps warm well, is environmentally friendly, does not collapse in frost, strong and durable. It is often used for floor insulation.
It is worth remembering that the thickness of the blind area layer needs to be done more than when working with other heaters. The larger the granule, the better the result. Use the largest fractions of expanded clay for the blind area.
Insulation should be carried out when the house is built and all work is completed. The foundation must shrink.
1. First, remove the layer of earth around the house. It is important to remove all vegetation and roots.
2. Installation of formwork. Boards are fastened around the entire perimeter.
3. Then the base is prepared. For this, a layer of clay is poured and waterproofing is laid. Then sand and geotextile dronite are poured. It is designed to protect against subsidence.
4. Next, the insulation is laid - a layer of expanded clay. Above, it touches again and then a layer of sand.
5. Then you can sprinkle the top with rubble or decorate the blind area with a lawn. It is necessary that water does not penetrate into expanded clay granules. You can pour concrete from above, just first lay the mesh on top of the insulation.
When pouring, you need to remember that it is important to tilt the blind area so that all the water flows from the house.
You can make a cake like this: dig a trench, fill up sand, tamp. Then profiled membrane. It is necessary to wrap expanded clay in it. Above is a geogrid and then rubble. The width of the blind area is 1.4 m. The thickness of the layer is 20 cm.
