Delicious potatoes according to an old family recipe.
The most delicious dishes that I remember from childhood are porridge and potatoes cooked by my grandmother in a Russian oven. This taste will never be forgotten!
Of course, a modern apartment does not have a stove, but there is a fairly good oven. Once I tried to cook potatoes according to the recipe of my beloved granny, and since then, as soon as I want to please my family with something tasty, I cook this simple dish.
The potato is slightly different from the rustic version, but it also comes out very tasty.
Recipe:
We need about 500 grams of peeled potatoes, half a liter of high fat milk and a little salt. Those who prefer to eat without the "white death" can do without it.
Wash the potatoes well and cut into thin slices.
We also need a baking dish with high sides. I like glass molds most of all: food does not stick to them and the dish looks beautiful. Moreover, they do not need to be oiled.
Put the potato circles in a mold, occupying no more than 1/3 of the part. Then fill the potatoes with milk and add a pinch of salt. The potatoes should be completely under the milk.
But the liquid should not reach the edges of the mold so that the milk does not escape during baking in the oven.
We put the dish with potatoes in a preheated oven and cooked for one hour at 180 degrees.
Gradually, the milk will be absorbed into the potatoes. Then a crust is formed on top, reminiscent of hard melted cheese in appearance and taste.
With such a simple and budgetary dish, you can feed not only your household, but you are not ashamed to offer it to guests. And if you have homemade milk available, then the dish will turn out to be simply incomparable!
