I bring to your attention a shoe dryer made from an old oil heater (working). A relatively simple design is simply irreplaceable in the hallway of a country house. Wet shoes no longer stain the floor, no need to keep a duty rag for puddles at the entrance. Drying up wet ski boots is no longer a problem. It is very pleasant to put on warm shoes in the morning, and to put your feet in warm slippers in the evening. Bonus: additional heating in the hallway!

What was needed for the construction.

· Old oil cooler, 500 watts.

· Wooden block, section 30 × 50 mm.

· Fasteners: metal corner, self-tapping screws.

Medium-sized river stones (pebbles).

· Paint.

· Shaggy four-legged assistant (without it).

Dryer assembly

First, you need to dismantle all the attachments from the radiator - in this case, these are the legs. The base for the heating element of the dryer is assembled from two wooden frames, adjusted in size and shape. To prevent moisture from the shoes from getting onto the power supply, it remains outside, outside the dryer body. This prevents electrical components from coming into contact with water and possible short circuits.

Legs are an indispensable element of the dryer frame, if you leave the box just at a minimum distance from the floor, the radiator will overheat itself and heat the floor. The sizes of the legs are individual, it all depends on the interior and the area of the hallway. Anyone who wants to improve drying, Vet27 advises to make the legs longer and fit another shelf or basket below for drying, say, gloves.

First "hook" all the elements of the frame, make sure that everything fits, then paint the blanks, assemble the frame and install the radiator into the housing.

It remains to turn on, make sure that the radiator heats up and lay the pebbles so that there is no free space.

Homemade dryer operation

The dryer has been in operation for several months. There were no excesses, the horizontal arrangement did not affect the work of the radiator in any way. For convenience, I additionally installed a timer on the outlet, the device works almost around the clock, with a pause of one hour every three hours.

Like the idea and implementation!
