Long road to dream, what a perfect home is

Someone builds and moves in one season, squeezing "Wishlist", and someone stubbornly strives for the ideal for years. The next cycle of FORUMHOUSE stories from the first person just about the second situation. Irina_Lebedeva tells how they looked for a plot and built a large house for several generations.

Search and purchase of land

How long or short, but after 10 years of persistent search, we managed to buy the land we dreamed of: next to city ​​(so that you can go to work), next to a forest and a river, with an asphalt road almost to the very plot...
True, on the one hand, there was a ruin next to it, which was chosen by drug addicts, there was a fire passage behind it, in which in some unfinished or burnt huts were going to local drinkers, and on the third side there was a 4-meter fence townhouses. Leveling the site for the construction of houses, the owners made a retaining wall on our site: a gentle slope throughout the site, and almost 60 degrees to their fence. On our site there were huge century-old trees: linden, spruce, 3 larches. As we understood, these are the remains of an alley running from the ruins, the former lordly estate of the Musins-Pushkins, to the Desna River. The trees on the plot are a dream! And we decided. After this purchase, they went to look at their land for another year, but did nothing - there was no money.

Design

This year was full of controversy around projects, unfortunately, it is very difficult to find a project for our needs on the network. We have a big family: we have children from our first marriages, both my husband and I, and also two in common. So we have, as in a joke: dear, run faster, there mine united with yours and beat ours.

• There are relatives who permanently live with us and require a separate room for living.
• On the one hand, there are parents who do not get younger over time...
• And there is a large number of friends with whom we have been friends for a long time as families, and when we get together, it happens, we number up to 60 people (of course, including the smallest "party-goers").
• We love to play sports, everyone has their own hobbies, which should also find a place in our house. It was necessary to provide for the possibility of long-term storage of vegetables and preparations for the winter...

In general, we failed to find exactly what we needed. We only found an idea that we wanted to implement. We developed layouts to fit our needs, but could not imagine how the house would look from the outside. Therefore, it was decided to turn to an architect. But since all construction is carried out under the flag of cost savings, we decided to communicate with the architect remotely.
What the architect sent in as sketches amazed us (in a good way), and we decided to work with him. And they did not regret it.
 One of the views that was sent by the architect is in the photo. This was preliminary work, after which we paid an advance and began to work out the nuances. I must say right away that changes were made both at the design stage and under construction and we have never regretted them yet.
