Jordan. How a big family lives in a small house
Jordan is an Arab country in which the majority of the population is Muslim. It is almost impossible for ordinary tourists to get into the house of the Jordanians.
Jordanians sacredly honor traditions and Muslim laws. The average Jordanian family lives in small houses, the architectural features of which make it possible to make more and more new extensions both upward and outward. Why is this happening?
The fact of the matter is that families are very large, they have many children, in addition, elderly parents, relatives who do not have their family (they cannot live independently according to Sharia law), grown-up sons, also starting a family, most often begin to live with parents. The family at any time may need to add new rooms, if the family increases.
The largest room in the house is a combined living room with a dining room. The whole family gathers in it at a large table. Direct communication with the kitchen is necessary in order to serve food without hindrance. In general, the Jordanian house is very colorful and colorful.
One glance at the dishes is enough to notice this. The dishes are decorated with national ornaments. Crockery is a consumable that constantly breaks, breaks, deteriorates, so the owners are forced to buy more and more sets and sets. It should be said here that dishes for 6 people are practically not found in Jordanian stores. Tea sets for at least 12 people, or even 24.
Jordanians use a lot of textiles and carpets to decorate their home. Carpets cover every inch of the house. Heavy curtains are often hung on the windows, which prevent the sun from entering the house and heating the air in it, so even in the hottest weather, it is not at all hot in houses without air conditioning.
The sleeping rooms in the houses are very small, since there are many children in the family, same-sex children cannot be accommodated in the same room, the difference in the age of children is very large. Each child decorates the room to his liking: babies with their own drawings, teenagers with posters or posters.
Jordanians live in a big friendly family and strive to make everyone comfortable in it.
