How to save on heating in Budapest
Christmas holidays in Europe are very beautiful. The central streets of cities, squares and parks sparkle with festive illumination.
In capitals and in small villages, Christmas trees are installed and Christmas markets open. Everything around sparkles and shines, smells delicious of mulled wine and gingerbread
It may seem that everyone has forgotten about saving and is wasting electricity, resources, money without an account. In fact, this is not the case. Illumination is turned on at certain hours, not all night. Fairs are open only until 21-22 pm, not later. This approach to everyday issues is not only on holidays. In every house, apartment they are accustomed to counting and wisely using energy, gas, and heat.
The owner of an apartment from whom we rented an apartment in Budapest introduced us to the “household economy” when the whole family arrived in the capital of Hungary for the New Year holidays. We moved into a very cold apartment! The fact is that the heating in each apartment in Budapest is individual; a separate gas boiler is installed. Each room of a house or apartment has radiators with a regulator. If the room is not used for some time, the heating is turned off.
There is a temperature sensor on the walls in each room, the degree of heating can be set automatically. The boiler is of a fairly high performance. In just a couple of hours, the temperature in the apartment became quite comfortable.
It's the same story with lighting. In a large studio apartment, there is not one big beautiful chandelier, as we imagined. There are small zone lights that you can turn on wherever you are at the moment. And the lighting power of each lamp can be adjusted too!
Occasionally, residents of the upper floors use the roof to install solar panels. These are not very large costs, since a significant part of the funds for the installation of such equipment is reimbursed by the state. Here's the savings! How do you like it?
