The best varieties of cucumbers without bitterness, in my opinion. For open ground and greenhouses
Greetings, dear summer residents!
Summer residents most often, when choosing a variety of cucumbers, are guided by the yield, taste and resistance of the variety to various negative factors. But it happens that in fact, cucumbers are obtained with bitterness.
There are many reasons that can influence the appearance of bitterness in the peel of the fruit. The main reason - this is a lack of moisture. Sometimes also temperature drops and some unfavorable weather conditions.
The fact is that bitterness can appear only in those varieties that initially, one might say genetically, they tend to produce substances that give the fruit bitterness from any experienced stress. The greenhouse was not covered in time or the water was turned off and it was not possible to water the beds in any way - that's all, consider that fresh cucumbers can be enjoyed only by peeling the peel.
Okay, if the dacha is in the village, or you are a villager. In this case, always take care of the availability of water and have time to cover. But what about urban dwellers with small plots where they practically grow cucumbers in the open field? There are many of them.
Just choose the right varieties that are exactly genetically incapable select the same substance - cucurbitacin. It is these varieties that I will give today with brief descriptions. I tried to highlight from all the options those that, in my opinion, are resistant to diseases of cucumbers, are not afraid of temperature changes and therefore can be grown both in a greenhouse and in an open soil.
Big plus you will also have good yield and long fruiting. Only, I hope, you understand that in the greenhouse the yield will be higher, and on the open ground in August and with a cold snap, the number of ovaries will sharply decrease.
LIST 1. No bitterness.
For growing both in the greenhouse and outdoors (parthenocarpic hybrids):
Round dance F1 - in a greenhouse or in the heat gives up to 8 ovaries in a bunch. It can be grown both in the southern regions and in the northern ones.
Mumu F1 - up to 6 fruits per bunch. According to reviews, the percentage of germination is high - up to 99%. You can plant up to 5 bushes per sq.m.
Egoza F1 is also a bunch variety, similar to MUMU in terms of yield and resistance to diseases and pests.
Ant F1 - gives up to 7 fruits in a bunch. Variety with very high hardiness and excellent resistance to pests and many diseases.
Doka F1 - up to 8 cucumbers in a bunch and this variety should be especially noted for the fact that it easily tolerates drought. If, after the last cold summer, the next one suddenly comes hot and dry, then with this variety you will not be in danger of crop failure. The fragrant variety is universal for preparations or salads.
Garland F1 - gives up to 5 cucumbers per bunch. But this variety also has a big advantage over other varieties - it is shade tolerance. You can grow not only in a low-sun area of your garden, but also on the balcony.
Gerasim F1 - up to 8 in a bunch and you can harvest in buckets every day.
