Since childhood, we have heard stories of how and where to look for it. But not many people know that he can also become a good assistant in construction. Therefore, let's see how it can help us.

Moss and all its varieties adapt very well to any climatic conditions. It is still considered an excellent building material. The advantages are density, reliable protection against pests, and it is also a good antiseptic for wooden structures.

Initially, in order for the moss to grow, it needs a lot of moisture. Therefore, before using in construction, some processing is done. First, they are cut off in layers, squeezed and placed in bags. Then the moss must be dried for 3-4 days. An interesting point is that the moss will need to be moistened again before use. This is due to the fact that sufficiently dried moss becomes brittle and can crumble. And for the action to be as effective as possible, it is necessary that he straightens up already laid, filling the empty space with himself.

Moss that has been dried and then soaked becomes more durable. It doesn't fly in the wind. Therefore, after adjusting the logs, it is necessary to evenly spread the moss across with a layer of about 5 cm, and a width of 25-30 cm. Press down on the moss with your palm, thus tamping it down more tightly. The same layer must be placed in the bowl, making sure that the fibers are outside of it. Spread the next log with two people to avoid dislodging the packing layer.

The final, and not unimportant stage of the construction is caulking. You need to take a mallet (carpenter's hammer) and walk along the crowns step by step. Drive in the protruding seal first. When voids are found, it is necessary to add first the dried moss and then the moistened one. And again with the help of a mallet, do the same. Then you need to walk from the inside of the log house. It will take a lot of time, but the result will justify all the labor costs.
