Why we decided to make floor heating in the apartment

In this article I want to start my story about the reasons that prompted me to install heated floors in the apartment.

We have been living in this house on the first floor for a good two decades. Immediately after buying an apartment, neighbors warned that the house was being built with violations near groundwater and therefore the basement was flooded more than once. For a long time my husband and I struggled with dampness, especially in the bathroom. What we just didn’t do. Even the autonomous heating, which is turned on even in September, even in May, did not radically change the situation. The last straw was the constant appearance of insects such as woodlice. So, at the "family council" it was decided to save money for the repair of heating in the apartment.

Where to start. First, they turned to sensible specialists, to which they received their approving consent. Secondly, we went shopping at a construction supermarket. Were bought: a new water heating boiler - in this case "Sime",

pipes, new tiles - separately in the corridor and the bathroom, cement, heat-insulating foil-clad polyethylene, additional construction details and of course a voltage regulator for a brand new boiler (as it turned out, not made in China, which is very pleased.

Than continued. I will list the main stages of installation. Some layer of the old floor is immediately removed. The surface is ideally leveled with a level. Further, heat-insulating polyethylene is laid on the floor, and a damper tape around the perimeter of the room. The next step is to lay the pipes themselves. On the Internet you can find many different schemes, my husband and I chose two independent circuits with a snake. They are pulled together, connected to the installed boiler and the entire system is checked for leaks.

In case of a favorable outcome - cement filling and laying with new tiles. Our master's hands "grew" from where it was necessary and he neatly laid it in the shape of a diamond. Warm floors are ready.

In conclusion, I will add my impressions. For the first time in your life, feeling warmth from the floor is really great. The atmosphere in the room seems much more comfortable. Getting out of the hot tub onto the heated floor feels more comfortable. There is no need to be afraid that playing on the floor may cause children to catch cold. The only drawback is when the heating is turned off in the summer, the cold tiles are less pleasant than those of linoleum or laminate.
