How Finns Escape the Cold Winter in Their Cottages
In Finland, among the owners of spacious cottages with numerous outbuildings, a unique wood-fired heating scheme is gaining momentum. Due to its technical simplicity, operational reliability, and affordability of fuel, it can be ideally adapted to the Russian climatic conditions.
For the technical implementation of such an idea, a drilled water well, or well, will also be required.
Fundamental features of wood-fired heating
The uniqueness of the heating scheme under consideration is the absence of radiators. With its help, it is supplied with a heat carrier heated to +60 degrees, a system of underfloor heating.
The meaning of the working scheme is to supply heated water from the boiler house to several heating points concentrated in separate buildings. Boiler power 100 kW.
The operational features of the presented heating system are that with its participation you can to heat 6-7 residential buildings and outbuildings at the dacha with minimal heat losses plot. Chips are used as fuel, along with sawdust, which is the main waste of the woodworking industry.
The substation is located inside a heated room, and is an ordinary change house. It occupies a total of no more than 3 m2. This size is enough for heating a 2-storey cottage with a total heated area of more than 120-130 m2.
Heat point device
The heat supply unit consists of the following functional units and blocks:
• heat exchanger;
• controller;
• pairs of supply and exhaust fans;
• circulation pump;
• recuperator.
With the exception of the heat exchanger of the Italian manufacturer Alfa-Laval, all equipment of Finnish production, including pipes and taps, is of the Onion brand. Thanks to the controller, the execution of operating functions occurs in automatic mode.
In addition to heating residential areas, the system is a heat donor for the hot water supply network. Hot water appears in the kitchen tap within 15 seconds.
