How I put the interior doors... on the fourth try

Oh, this renovation. What is not said about him. And the fact that it is worse than a fire. And what is a natural disaster. And the fact that this is a protracted leap into infinity. In the overwhelming majority of cases, all this is true. But worst of all, when the repair has actually finished, for complete happiness, all that remains is to install the interior doors. Half a day to do. And then it turns out that this is not at all as easy as it seems.

Here it is, a long-awaited renovated and cleaned apartment. The move is planned. Now a master found on the Internet for interior doors will come, quickly install them, and in the evening the Gazelle will transport me to this kingdom of domestic happiness. So I saw the outcome of events. In reality, everything turned out a little differently.

The first attempt to install the doors ended before it began. Arriving masters entered the apartment, took out the instrument, got ready... and then the light went out. This often happens in new homes. Instead of a calm reaction, for some reason the specialists went into a terrible hysteria. They began to shout that they could not afford to be simple, that their orders were on fire. They called the solution to the situation an additional payment of 2,000 rubles for each door to 2,000 already agreed.

Of course, I refused such a tempting offer. As a result, the leading specialists threw mud at me, using a large number of obscene words, and proudly left. The question why professionals in installing doors in new homes are so nervous about blackouts, although they should always be ready for it, remained unanswered.

A second attempt to install home portals has even begun. But when I saw that the mega-specialists did not have a circular saw at their disposal, and were trying to cut the frames and extensions with jigsaws, I myself stopped this work and said goodbye. The bags they prepared with small golden carnations, which normal craftsmen have not used for 10 years, only confirmed me in the correctness of the decision.

The specialists, who arrived for the third time, had a saw and many other tools, as well as the confidence that everything would go without a hitch. Doubts began to dominate me when 6 hours had passed and not a single door had been installed. Professionals broke down about the need to smoothly build the box into the kitchen doorway. In the best traditions of domestic housing construction, I have it slightly crooked and non-standard. After another two hours of torment, the chief door specialist could not stand it, freaked out, packed his things, and ran away. I must say that, to his credit, at parting he nevertheless said, "Sorry, I can't." But this could not in any way return my jaw that had fallen somewhere.

And only for the fourth time the right master came to me with hands growing from the right places. He, swearing terribly, fixed the jambs of the previous "masters", and installed three doors in 4 hours. In the end, the seemingly easy task of installing the doors took two weeks. And this despite the fact that the entire renovation of the apartment took 4.

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that all would-be specialists had beautiful websites with examples of fantastically high-quality works. With guarantees, promises of exceptional simplicity and speed of order execution.

And the moral of this story is as follows. Many already know that in the modern world for a normal life you need to have “your own” doctor, lawyer and auto mechanic. Apparently, a door installer is now being added to this list.
