Curious features of modern Australian housing

Australia is one of the few countries whose population ranks among the happiest people on the planet. In addition, it is also a very rich state, because there are simply ideal conditions for the development of even a small business. Not surprisingly, the life expectancy and quality of life of Australians is the highest in the world. And most importantly: there are many immigrants in this country, but there is practically no crime.

Are you looking to settle in Australia too? In this case, you will be interested to learn about what constitutes a local housing, which may soon become yours.

The bulk of the population lives in one-story houses located on vast plots of land. Rectangular or square buildings are unusually large in size and therefore appear very wide and squat. In fact, in spacious rooms, the ceilings are quite high, so there is a lot of light and air in the rooms.

Due to the mild climate, residential buildings are erected from brick in one layer or generally from plywood sheathed with siding. The pitched roofs are covered with ceramic tiles to shelter from the scorching sun. Due to the obligatory presence of a veranda or terrace, there are usually no hallways.

What is especially striking is the abundance of windows, which make the window openings huge - from floor to ceiling and without bars, and the doors are often also glass. Therefore, at first it seems as if people live behind a shop window. Well, then nothing, you get used to it.

It is incredible amazement that there is no heating in the houses. And if the outside temperature drops to at least + 15 ° C, then it becomes pretty cool in the house. We have to install individual heaters in the rooms. In winter, Australians are forced to wear thick clothes and warm ugg boots at home.

In the kitchen and in the bathroom, you can often see sinks with two taps, separately for cold and hot water, without a mixer. Hot water is supplied to the house by a gas boiler.

In Australia, nature is treated with care, so solar panels on the roof or a tanker in the yard, designed for 10-20 tons and designed to collect rainwater, are not unusual here.

The concept of registration does not exist in the country, so you can build a house even in an open field, even in jungle, especially since the state is always ready to immediately help everyone to get their own dwelling.
