How to place a bathroom and shower in a small bathroom. Bathroom before and after renovation
When several people with different preferences live in the same apartment, it is very difficult to please everyone. The stumbling block can be the love of some to lie in a bath with warm foam, which takes up most of the bathroom. The shower room can become the same problem if one of the household members demands it. We want to share our story, when the various requests of our relatives were solved with a competent layout.
Comparison of the old and new layout of the placement in the bathroom:
What was the bathroom before renovation
A room of 8 squares with a window was planned to accommodate a large jacuzzi, which was actual 15 years ago (170x170 cm), a large washing machine, a table with a sink and a wall-hung toilet.
Bathroom before renovation:
What had to be sacrificed when completing two points
We understood that in a combined bathroom the minimum set of connection points would be:
· Bathroom;
Shower room;
· toilet;
· Sink.
Thus, the washing machine had to find a new place on the balcony, freeing up the required square of space.
The new project has retained the connection points for the sink and bathtub, while changing their appearance.
But the toilet had to be moved and deployed, measuring the necessary half a meter for the feet near the bathroom.
New installation location for wall-hung toilet with a turn:
The builders expanded the niche in which the sanitary ware used to stand right next to the plumbing pipes, which made it possible to mount the shower area. Walls served as natural fences, which made it possible not to buy cheap plastic structures. The entrance was divided in half and one part was covered with tempered glass up to the ceiling. It is in this corner that the shower column is located. An inclined ladder was built into the floor so that water did not stagnate inside the makeshift cubicle and did not pour into the rest of the toilet room. Of course, we had to lay waterproofing before pouring the screed.
This is what a square shower cubicle looks like (1mx1m):
I also had to find a non-standard bathroom option. Since a small elongated rectangle opposite the entrance remained free, an elegant model of an asymmetric capacity was found that fit into the allocated space.
This is what a corner bathroom looks like with different sides:
The sink with a glass top was replaced by a cabinet and a bowl, which made it possible to get a place for storing household chemicals.
The window sill is still used as an accessory shelf.
The main tones of the finish are white to visually make the room more spacious, because now there are more work areas.
Do you see any disadvantages of the new layout and design that we did not notice?
