5 ways to make pears bear fruit faster

A wonderful pear tree is in no hurry with the first harvest - under favorable conditions and decent care, it begins to bear fruit only 5-6, or even all 8 years after planting.

I have always been patient with the “inhabitants” of the garden, but I really wanted to taste the homemade pear jam as soon as possible! Therefore, I turned to my grandfather for advice, who at one time almost became a doctor of agricultural sciences...

He told me how without fertilizing a pear with chemistry, without harming nature in any way, you can make it bear fruit faster!

1. Choosing the best seedlings

Two-year-old seedlings look tall and strong, it seems that they can bloom as soon as possible, be decorated with ovaries, and then - and bulk pears!

But in fact, one-year-old seedlings are needed - they themselves may be frail in appearance, but their root system tolerates transplanting better and, therefore, in the future they enter fruiting earlier.

2. Digging holes correctly

In order for the root system of a young tree to feel comfortable, it needs space to gain a foothold during the period of its active growth, which lasts 2-3 years at the roots.

In cramped conditions, this plant is more prone to disease, it puts all its strength into survival, and on the formation of fruits!

So the planting hole for each seedling should be about 80 cm in diameter and about 50 cm deep.

3. We apply the necessary fertilizers

The planting hole must be filled not just with fertile soil, but with a particularly nutritious mixture, mixed with ordinary soil for each seedling 2 buckets of humus, 1 cup of superphosphate, 0.5 cups of potassium sulfate and 3 tablespoons of ammonia saltpeter.

The resulting mixture needs to fill the hole no more than 1/3 or half. And on top of it - a 20 cm layer of ordinary earth is sprinkled - to protect the root system from burns due to fertilizers. She will absorb them - but in a safe way.

4. Preparing the root system

Before planting, it must be examined and, if found, remove dried, damaged, painful processes.

Then, in order to activate its ability to take root and ensure the prevention of fungal diseases, it should be dipped in a mash made of clay with the addition of wood ash and Kornevin's remedy.

5. Do not neglect pruning

When the seedling is finally in its intended place, you need to cut it.

And - mercilessly, at once by a third! Thus, the tree will receive a powerful stimulus for development, its forces will be directed in the right direction.

The next (second from planting) year, you do not need to prune the tree - it is better to let it grow the crown.
