"Interesting" clauses in the furniture purchase agreement or how we are forced to overpay
Renovation of a new apartment or house is not only necessary, but also very important and costly. It must be approached with all responsibility. A feature of the renovation in the new apartment will be the purchase of furniture, without which comfortable living will be impossible. In this article, we will talk about buying wardrobes in the bedroom and some of the tricks and additional expenses that we had to face.
The preliminary selection and purchase should be treated carefully, because the furniture should last more than one year. The choice fell on multifunctional white wardrobes, one of which had to be with a mirror with one leaf. Cabinets were ordered according to individual sizes and the compartments inside were also original. The total amount was quite democratic and acceptable in the amount of 30,000 thousand rubles for both cabinets. This amount also included the cost of assembly in the amount of 2,000 thousand rubles.
After the conclusion of the contract, a long wait for production and installation began. Manufacturing of this type of furniture took 6 months. The term is not only long. It was excruciatingly long, things were stored in numerous packages. 6 months and 2 weeks have passed and the long-awaited call came that the cabinets are ready for installation. It is worth mentioning that the size of the cabinets was the standard 2 meters high and 80 centimeters wide.
The cabinets had to be installed in an apartment on the 8th floor, and at this moment the most interesting thing began. The workers demanded a payment in the amount of 2,000 thousand for each floor, that is, a total of 16,000 thousand rubles came out. A call to the manufacturing company did not help, however, the contract included a clause on delivery to the place of assembly of the product, which was included in the price paid when drawing up the contract. There was no extra money and I had to lug the cabinets and collect them ourselves. Fortunately, there were skills in assembling furniture.
The trip to the manufacturer also did not help. There was a standard phrase: "They are pickers, not loaders." However, the contract contained a clause on delivery to the assembly site and thanks to this clause, the case was won in court and compensation in the amount of 40,000 rubles was received.
