Learning to properly Rejuvenate Anthurium (Male happiness) and give a second life to a beautiful Plant

One of the most popular flowers in indoor floriculture is Man's Happiness. A plant with proper care can live up to 12 years. But for this, it must be regularly rejuvenated.

Otherwise, the culture will simply stop growing, lose its attractiveness, and in some cases, this may cause death.

Step by step rejuvenation procedure

The procedure is carried out not only for rejuvenation and obtaining a new plant, but for the purpose of resuscitation, when the anthurium is already on the verge of death.

The process takes place strictly according to the instructions:

1. At the very beginning, I cut off the top with aerial roots, its height should be up to 15 cm. Then I leave 2 leaves on the handle, and delete all the rest.

2. I make drainage holes in a plastic cup, fill it 1/3 with wet vermiculite. I place the cut stem in the center, deepen it by 4-6 cm, and then lightly sprinkle it.

I do not recommend tamping in this case, the roots that appear should feel free. Then I spray the cutting with warm water.

3. I cover the glass with plastic wrap to create a greenhouse effect inside, and then I put it in a bright and warm place.

4. I follow the soil, it should always be wet, periodically I remove the film for 10-15 minutes for airing.

As a rule, roots begin to appear on the 20-25 day, and after a few more weeks, the cutting becomes overgrown with leaves. After 2-2.5 months, the young plant can be transplanted into a separate flowerpot.

I also do not throw away the trunk of the old flower, it is quite possible that dormant buds remain on it. I reduce the number of waterings and observe how the old anthurium reacts to this.

It is not uncommon for a flower to come to life and continue to delight me with its flowering.

Care after pruning

After rejuvenation, the plant needs to be given more careful care. There are several guidelines to help you avoid a lot of trouble.

They are as follows:

· We put a young flower in a room where the temperature regime is maintained at 18-22 degrees;

· We eliminate drafts, this can have a bad effect on the fragile anthurium;

· The flower should not be deficient in light, but there should be no contact with direct sunlight either, therefore, it is better to choose the southwestern window sills;

· Do not allow the substrate to dry out and waterlogged, young roots may not tolerate new stress.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in the procedure of rejuvenation and the subsequent care of the "male happiness" plant. But as a reward, you can get a beautiful, blooming and healthy culture.
