With the arrival of spring, geraniums recover after wintering and confidently set a course for a long and abundant flowering. Our goal is to help our favorite plants cope with a good task. And one of the most important points is to provide nutritional resources in the form of essential macronutrients.

Caring for the crown: a beneficial investment in splendor

Now, at the end of May, geraniums need nitrogen (N). It helps flowers grow new shoots and leaves. What you need after pruning and wintering!

Ordinary urea, which has a lot of nitrogen and which I see on the shelf of every gardening department, will do the job just fine. I make a solution of her granules in warm water - 4 g per liter. After thoroughly mixing and making sure that the urea is completely dissolved, I generously water the geraniums at the root.

It is very difficult to make exactly as much mortar as needed 🤷‍♀️ Is there too much left? No problem! Excess can be diluted with water and poured into a spray bottle.

Spraying - foliar dressing - acts faster than root watering. And in the complex, the effect will be amazing - geranium from several bald sticks after pruning and such a treat will be a lush bush by May.

If for some reason you do not like the option with urea, I will write analogs:

• Fertilizers "Plantafol" and "Plantafid" with a horse dose of nitrogen are receiving rave reviews from flower growers. They are used only for foliar top dressing. They act quickly, the effect on the face... There is only one difficulty: it cannot be found in free sale. You need to order online.
• Any complex mineral dressing for decorative deciduous plants in liquid form. And at the root, and on the sheet! You may be wondering why you need to feed pelargoniums with a non-flowering agent. The answer is in the composition - the nitrogen required by geraniums prevails there.

In general, comrades, everything that is nitrogen is used according to the instructions 😊

But at the beginning of May we are already taking care of flowering this year

Of course, the green lush bush pleases the eye. But we love Pelargonium for the bright umbrellas that rise above the foliage on thin legs. Therefore, in the first days of May, I make a mandatory fertilizing with an abundance of phosphorus, which works as a bloom exploder...

This is the usual, old and good potassium monophosphate. I breed it according to the instructions and use it as a foliar feeding. A spray bottle is the grower's best friend☝️

At the same time, every 2 weeks I feed geraniums at the root with mineral fertilizer, already "For blooming". Try it - I'm sure you will like the result.
