I share my Experience of watering Pepper seedlings to get healthy and Strong plants

When they talk about growing seedlings of vegetable peppers, they pay attention to a lot - the composition of the substrate, methods of stratification of seeds, diving... but about watering, what is known? Just make sure the ground doesn't dry out? But this is clearly not enough!

My personal experience has shown that it is precisely by properly watering pepper seedlings that you can greatly increase the chances that the plants will grow strong, promising.

Water for irrigation of seedlings, not only pepper, but also any other vegetables, must be filtered, if just from the tap - before watering it must settle for a couple of days.

You cannot use boiled water - the fact is that it practically does not contain oxygen, which harms the root system, preventing it from absorbing nutrients from the soil.

The water temperature should be within +20... 27 ° С. If it is cold, the root system will experience a "shock" and the development of seedlings will stop. Hot, as shown by scientific research, lowers the immunity of plants.

The best time to water pepper seedlings is early in the morning, before the hot sun shines. You need to pour water at the root, making sure not to wet all the plants - because moisture, especially covering the leaves, is one of the main factors provoking fungal diseases seedlings.

While the pepper lives in the seedling format, mulching is not required, but it is imperative to loosen the ground after each watering. Thus, it is possible to prevent stagnation of water in the upper layer of the soil, and hence rotting of the stems.

Plus, loosening promotes the penetration of air and oxygen to the roots.

I want to reveal another secret - you can increase the viability of seedlings with the help of ordinary citric acid. To do this, dissolve 2 g of the product in 5 liters of water and pour over the pepper as usual with a frequency of 1 time per week.

And finally, I want to mention the popular mistakes that I myself made when watering pepper seedlings:

Planting containers with seedlings should have holes at the bottom through which excess water can leave, otherwise the roots can be affected by rot;

If the air temperature in the room is low, then watering should be reduced - conditions of high humidity and coolness provoke a disease called black leg in many garden crops;

If the seedlings are in a large box and stand on the windowsill, then from the side closer to the glass the soil is longer remains wet and, accordingly, when watering, you cannot pour as much water there as on the other side capacity.
