How I grow early radish in April.

Radish is one of the first vegetables to delight us in the spring. The sooner you want to get fresh radishes into your daily diet, the more effort you will have to put into growing them.

But don't be scared! In fact, everything is not so difficult. The main thing is to follow some rules of planting and caring for this plant.

Growing early radish

The first step is to wait until the snow melts. And the beds should be prepared in the fall, i.e. the ground must be dug up and fertilized.

To quickly prepare the beds for sowing radishes, they should be covered with dark plastic. Under such material, the soil will warm up much faster than under the daytime rays of the sun. Moreover, in March very often there are night frosts.

When is the best time to sow seeds.

This question has no definite answer: it all depends on the weather. Usually radishes can be sown in mid or late March. The air temperature must be at least 12 degrees Celsius at that time.

After sowing the seeds, the bed can be covered so that the soil does not cool down. Night frosts are not terrible for radish seeds, the main thing is that they stop with the appearance of the first green shoots.

If the spring is cold, then do not rush to sow radish, because the seeds will simply lie in the soil and wait for warming, while some may not germinate later.

Tips for beginners!

Choosing the right type of radish is very important. The taste of the product and how rich the harvest awaits you depends on this. It should be noted that radish seeds are early, medium and late. At this point, you also need to pay attention.

If you plan to get the first harvest in April or May, then it is better to purchase early varieties.

Before planting, radish seeds can be soaked in warm water for a while. Thus, they will rise faster. It is also better to water the garden bed intended for sowing radishes.

There must be some distance between the seeds, otherwise the radish heads will grow very small. It is best to back off about 3-4 cm.
Taking care of a radish is not difficult. As soon as the first leaves appear, the radishes must be cut. But this should be done very carefully so as not to harm young delicate plants.

It is preferable to use a spray bottle or watering can with fine holes. It is worth watering with warm water.
