A simple folk way to get rid of Garden Ants on Apple Trees, which was also used by our Grandmothers
Garden pests have always spoiled the life of gardeners. Therefore, in order for the garden to please with juicy and healthy fruits, it is necessary to keep the defense from insects in full.
Although the neighbor often says, they say, if there are worms in apples, then they are real and without any chemicals. There is no doubt, but I am so sure that my bulk apples are the best and natural, so I do not plan to arrange a tasting for insects.
They apparently do not know, and somehow they divorced in a huge amount on my garden plot. Especially ants are a problem for all gardeners!
By the way, take a close look at your garden. As a rule, ants and aphids appear at the same time. Therefore, in the spring, when the plants are still dormant and the snow is about to melt, we pour hot water over the bushes and the ground.
This is the current method that I now use every spring. Pests and larvae die, and the trees have an additional tone, they instantly wake up from hibernation.
In general, last year the ants captured two large apple trees at once - a very young seedling and already an adult apple tree. Ants are small and insidious insects, and getting rid of them can be very difficult.
Vera Stepanovna, my school friend and eminent summer resident, even told how she bought a special poison from them in the store and scattered it next to the garden bed. And what do you think? The ants dragged the white powder aside and continued to dig trenches in her garden. Wormwood did not help her either, although they read somewhere that if you hang it around the garden, the ants will disappear.
What helped? First, remember, the aphids will go away - there will be no ants. Therefore, the first thing to do is to get rid of these parasites first.
Whitewash the seedlings in the spring, and if the pests attacked in the summer, then treat the tree with this solution:
· Coal ash (300 gr.).
· Bucket of warm water (5 l.).
If the apple tree is low, then you can collect aphids like this:
A piece of light paper is required, spread with sweet syrup, fasten with a clothespin on a tree. When the aphids stick to the leaf, hang up a new one.
Another good way to fight ants, which my grandmother advised me, and thanks to which I also managed to save my trees from this scourge, is kerosene solution. It is absolutely harmless to apple trees and will not harm them.
What you need:
Black soap (4 regular bars)
Carbolic acid - 35 g
10 liters of water
· Kerosene - 10 tablespoons.
All this stuff needs to be mixed properly; a bucket is ideal as a dish for the solution. Then we get to work, you can spray the crowns of trees or spray the solution on the ant heaps. As a rule, after 3-4 sprays, ants no longer appear.
In general, ants do not look into my garden, I hope you will not have these uninvited guests, and the harvest will be generous and the envy of your neighbors!
