Why you should give up everything and go to live in an autonomous eco-village
We, children of the technogenic age, accustomed to the benefits of civilization and comfort, do not understand the motives of people made the decision to drastically change their usual way of life and abandon the advantages of industrial society.
And indeed, if the head is busy only with thoughts of acquiring a new iPhone, and the need to retain useful information in memory is gone with the advent of the option "okay Google" - the appearance on the horizon of the opportunity to live like a hermit is perceived at least with bewilderment, but as a maximum (and as a rule) such people are perceived as sectarians, blessed, misanthropes or banal losers trying to assert themselves in a new the world.
And what is it really - an ecovillage, and what are its advantages?
There are different eco-villages. In some, they live on the model of the Old Believer communities: in wooden houses, with subsistence farming and a minimum of technical devices. In others, the emphasis is on autonomy and preservation of the environment, but already using modern, but environmentally friendly technologies, alternative energy sources generated by wind turbines, solar panels, mini-hydroelectric power station. Separately, they take care of the regeneration of flora and fauna resources. And in both variants of the settlements, people are united either by one idea or by religion.
Undoubtedly, there is a grain of truth in all this. The hustle and bustle of cities, driving the gray mass to stupidity, environmental pollution, thoughtless use of resources - all this leads to the death of the planet, and we cannot fail to understand this. But we try not to think about it too much, because “enough for our century” - and let the descendants themselves puzzle over the problem of survival.
I believe that the idea of various ecovillages, tribal communities, and the like - although unrealizable in the end, but still correct. There is something real and true in this. But... Do others share this opinion? That is the question. And it is already addressed to you.
