Miracle shovel with your own hands. Digging up a vegetable garden three times faster

IN this article I wrote about my purchase - the so-called Miracle Shovel. Digging and loosening the soil with this ripper is much faster and easier physically than a simple shovel. And the result is better (earth without lumps).

If you have scrap metal, you can make such a shovel in a couple of hours. Moreover, not all residents in rural areas have the opportunity to find a store selling such shovels and go to the city specifically to purchase it.

You don't have to invent a bicycle and use the drawings of those who have already made this device for themselves:

Dimensions of the main units. You will need a pipe, corner, metal rods (or smooth fittings). And also strips of metal. From the tool you will need: a grinder, a drill and a welding machine. Making this ripper is a great way to practice welding.

Metal can be purchased at collection points for ferrous and non-ferrous scrap. Average price: 25 rubles / kg. This shovel will require ~ 5 kg of metal.

Assembly (welding) process of a product. Probably the main task is to find metal for the teeth. If you find a plastic metal, then it will need to be hardened: heated to a high temperature and rapidly cooled in water or oil. Otherwise, the teeth will constantly bend. Or use a larger metal section.

Such a structure raised above the ground serves to facilitate work - the shovel handle does not have to be tilted low. The back will be even more unloaded. In my miracle shovel, the handle has to be tilted quite low to the ground.

The teeth do not need to be bent. The two bolt connection must be made with locknuts (two nuts tightened). With one nut, the mount will unscrew during operation.

The final view of the ripper. Painting is at your discretion. The weak point is the emphasis on the left, at the handle, which creates an angle of 120 degrees. The welded joint in this place needs to be reinforced.
