Mezhventsovy heater without caulking
Polytherm as a heater for wooden buildings. Can it be safely used for insulation, or are there any serious disadvantages?
Artificial material is made from 100% polyester fibers. Polytherm has become a popular mezhventsovy heater. But over time, they began to refuse him.
The logs used in the construction of houses and saunas contain natural moisture. Drying will be after construction. At this time, the thickness of the logs changes and this entails the appearance of gaps. Polytherm is able to get rid of this problem. After the wood has dried, the polytherm fills in the gaps that have appeared.
It is sold in the form of a tape, the width of which is 30-200 mm. Thickness up to 20 mm.
- the material is durable, frost-resistant,
- able to regain its shape after compression,
- does not leak moisture, does not get wet,
- does not support combustion.
- it does not form fungus and mold.
- rodents, insects, birds do not like it.
- easy installation. The seams are neat.
Polytherm is like polyethylene, which creates a greenhouse effect and does not absorb moisture. The tree also contains a large percentage of moisture. The moisture has nowhere to go and bacteria, mold and other biological agents form on the wood.
It is not recommended to combine wood with synthetics. The tree in the blockhouse breathes, but the polytherm does not allow it to breathe. The crowns of a wooden structure will eventually become covered with a layer of mold.
As a result, after a year you will feel an unpleasant smell of dampness and the crowns of the log house will turn into dust. After 5-8 years, the wooden building will rot.
Polyterm is only suitable for buildings made of concrete, cinder blocks, bricks, etc. For a wooden building, it is better to use only natural insulation. It can be moss, felt, flax, jute.
