How solar energy has developed in Russia over the past 5 years
Hello dear subscribers and guests of my channel! Solar energy is now a fashionable trend supported by many countries around the world.
Do you know how things are in Russia? So let's find out how the sun catcher industry has developed over the last five years.
The beginning of the development of solar energy in Russia
As a starting point, you can take the commissioning already in the distant 2014 of the Kosh-Agachskaya SPP, the total capacity of which was 10 MW.
Up to this point, there were only minor generations, which, by and large, cannot be called full-fledged generation.
Note. A pilot project in Russia was a 100 kW solar station built in the Belgorod Region and commissioned on September 29, 2010.
The annexation of Crimea in 2014 was a sharp jump in the generation of electricity into the common system. It was then that the Crimean SPPs with a total generation of 227.4 MW began to be taken into account.
So only one SPP "Perovo" has a capacity of 105.6 MW.
The real impetus for the active development of solar energy in Russia was the state program, according to which renewable energy received support, and new generation facilities began to be built at a competitive basis.
Thus, the selections carried out in the period from 2013 to 2019 gave progress in the implementation of SPP with a total capacity of 1,858.3 MW.
As a result, since 2015, 4 SPPs with a total capacity of 40.2 MW were commissioned. The following year, five SPPs with an installed capacity of 30 MW were launched at once.
In 2017, 30 SPPs were immediately put into operation with a total capacity of 356.9 MW.
In 2018, 14 SPPs were put into operation and their capacity is 285 MW.
In 2019, 17 SPPs were commissioned with a capacity of 247.5 MW.
Development prospects
As you already understood, not everything is so sad in Russia with alternative energy sources and, despite the significant lag behind the world leaders, due to the huge vacant territories, the potential of solar energy is estimated at 2300 billion equivalent fuel tone.
In the meantime, the total capacity of all solar stations in Russia in 2019 amounted to 1,418 MW.
The share of installed capacity increased from zero to 0.55%.
