Deep vibrator for concrete from available tools: cheap, fast, effective

To obtain high-quality concrete, you need to compact the solution as much as possible. The deep vibrator does this effectively. For small amounts of work, for example: blind areas, paths, screeds, a vibrator can be made independently. See a simple method on how to make a deep vibrator from available tools.

What is needed for this

The base for the vibrator is an electric drill, a screwdriver or a hammer drill with an adapter for a drill. Their task is to give rotation to the shaft. And you will also need:

• metal hose 0.8–1 m (metal corrugation in a plastic sheath);
• rigid copper single-core wire with insulation 1.1–1.3 m;
• cap for corrugation (improvised);
• metal clamp;
• grease (grease, lithol).

Requirements:

• The wire must go into the socket and clamp well.
• The corrugation should be selected approximately 2/3 thicker than the wire. For example, if a braided wire with a diameter of 6 mm, you need a corrugation of 15 mm of inner diameter.
• A piece of reinforcement or any object that fits tightly into the corrugation will serve as a plug. The purpose of the plug is to prevent the wire (shaft) from falling out.

How to assemble a deep vibrator

1. Plug the corrugation on one side. To do this, insert the plug into the end of the corrugation and clamp it from the outside with a clamp.
2. Insert the wire into the corrugation. Bend one end of the wire 3 cm in half - you get an eccentric. Lubricate the wire and insert it with the bent end into the corrugation until it stops.
3. Connect the wire to the socket. Fix the end of the wire that goes out into the socket - the vibrator is ready!

How to use

It is not difficult to work with this vibrator. Take a drill in one hand, hold the corrugation with the other, press the start button. The wire, rotating in the corrugation and hitting the walls, will create vibration, which will be transmitted to the concrete, compacting it. Do not forget to regularly check the lubricant - the braid should not break from friction. And also observe safety requirements: work with gloves.
