Do-it-yourself concrete flowerpot in the form of a bag

click fraud protection

Ahead is the summer season, when you can do the improvement of a summer house or a suburban area. The information is useful for housewives who are not afraid to work with concrete.

The technology is simple. You need to take a small bag, dilute the solution in a 3 to 1 ratio (sand and cement) with the addition of tile glue for slower setting and better plasticization. We fill the bag with the solution halfway, and then insert a plastic bucket filled with stones. Do not make the solution very liquid. It will be weaker and the slurry will leak through the fabric.

When the solution rises when lowering the bucket, the edges of the bag must be tucked in. Tie a thick rope above the middle or at the upper edge. After the concrete has set, carefully remove the bucket. The bucket should be tapered.

The process is illustrated in these slides:

In this example, the outer bag is removed. The fabric bag will be saturated with the solution and cannot be separated from the concrete.

The main subtlety is to create a border of burlap with concrete. As I wrote above, the fabric is tucked in. In this case, there must be a solution between the layers. It can be added to form an inner layer. In this case, the border will have a large thickness and when the mortar sets, the surface of the flowerpot must be smoothed out. Or it can be done with sandpaper after it gains strength.

The rope is impregnated with concrete and tied. It is important that the ends of the rope do not dangle, but adhere to the flowerpot. Otherwise they will break off.

Another option is to make concrete burlap flowerpots. You need to take an old plastic vase, bucket or other unnecessary container. We soak the bag in a liquid concrete solution, place a bucket inside and wrap the burlap inside. Inside, we coat the surface with a solution so that it is monolithic. We also tie it with a rope soaked in solution. Avoid hanging ends of the rope.

A similar option for making flowerpots from burlap or coarse fabric is shown in the video. After gaining strength, the concrete must be coated with impregnations (for less water absorption - so that it does not collapse in winter) or painted with tinted facade paints.
