You don't have to weed and loosen the peas. The original method of seeding randomly
Previously, I planted peas in the following way. In the fall, I dug up the earth, fertilized it with humus. In the spring, before planting, the peas were soaked for 12 hours.
Then she germinated in a warm place and planted in prepared rows.
The distance between the peas was 15 cm and the row spacing was 30 cm. During the season, she loosened the soil so that a crust does not form, fed the plants and watered.
For the past 2 years, I have been planting peas using the method of natural farming, and the result pleases me. In terms of yield, the new method is not inferior to the previous one, and even surpasses it.
Now I don’t soak the peas in advance, I don’t dig the garden bed with a shovel since autumn, but sow green manures there to increase the soil fertility and its structure, or I simply lay out the boards so that weeds do not grow.
In the spring I remove the boards, loosen the ground a little with a Fokin flat cutter. I remove single weeds that have managed to grow in the garden. Shoyu not too early in the spring, in the second half of May.
By this time, all the weeds will sprout, and they can be removed before sowing the peas so that they do not subsequently clog the young shoots of the sown plants.
Then I take the seeds and scatter the peas. Together with them I sow oats or winter wheat to drown out weeds. In addition, there is no need to make props to hold the peas.
This year I chose the Medovik variety, and this variety can be grown without supports.
Then I put the seeds into the ground using a rake, then I spill the soil with a leykeeper. Then you need to take an important step - cover the planting with a thin layer of hay so that the birds do not fly in and do not gnaw the peas.
If you put in a lot of hay, it will be difficult for young shoots to get to the surface. Also, dry grass will retain moisture, so watering is often unnecessary.
If there is no hay (which is rare), you can use agrofibre to cover the crops. As soon as sprouts appear, the material must be removed.
At the same time, hay does not need to be removed, it lays down throughout the season. And by the spring it will rot, and maybe even in the fall.
After the hay is spread, it should be tamped lightly.
Maintenance of such a ridge is minimal. You only need to water, loosen and weed you do not have to.
