Ants ate logs in a bath: my experience with ant control. Found a 100% way

For 2 years now I can not cope with this scourge. At first, he simply poured boiling water over the ants. It helped, but not for long. The next day, more ants crawled. They don't care about hot steam at all. You give in steam, they only start crawling on the logs faster, as if they like it. Baths are already 10 years old, from the inside is not sheathed with anything. He just whitewashed the logs with lime, as our grandfathers did.

It is clear that ants are beneficial in the forest, but in this case they are just pests. Insects love log cabins. They like warmth and dampness. Ants love a rotten tree and are also delighted with the new log house. I read on the Internet that they are attracted by fungus, mosses. Gradually they sharpen the log, eating fungus, rot, mold and can eventually completely destroy the bath.

Tried using boric acid. It must be blended with other ingredients to be effective. I took a spoonful of honey, sugar 30 gr. and mixed with boric acid (5 gr.). I poured the mixture into a plastic lid and put it near the place where the ants crawl. You can mix boric acid (powder) with jam. I heard that some people mix mashed potatoes with an egg and boric acid powder (20 gr.). Then the balls are rolled and laid out in problem areas.

I made the mixture according to the first method (with honey). It helped, but after a while the ants crawled again.

I heard that fragrant herbs scare off ants. They need to be laid out around the perimeter of the bath. But this is not an effective remedy, since you need to change them every day.

A neighbor advised me to plant parsley and mint next to the bathhouse. This smell also scares them away. But I need a tool that works quickly and preferably forever.

The most effective folk way is the sulfuric checker. But after it was set on fire inside the bath, you need to tightly close the windows and doors and leave for several hours. Then add steam 2-4 times and after a week just use the sauna.

I thought that folk remedies are not so good in my case.

I decided to use aggressive methods (chemistry). The store advised you to choose from: gels, granules, powders, traps, etc. I bought everything that seemed necessary: ​​Raptor granules for ants, Anteater powder, Muratsid, Grom-2 granules and some other gel (I don't remember the name).

Around the bath, he poured the earth from a watering can with an anti-insect solution, laid out traps inside the bath, smeared the logs with gel, sprinkled the powder. I went to the bathhouse in the morning and immediately saw the result. Several days have passed - there are no ants. 100% victory! The main thing then to repeat for prevention, not to start, so that the bathhouse will serve longer.
