Before a long trip to the country, I always do without fail a few simple actions that have already become a habit.

1. Shutting off the water supply.

First thing before leaving the apartment for a long time I shut off the taps that cut off the hot and cold water supply.

This allows you to protect not only mine, but also neighboring apartments from flooding in the event of a communal accident.

2. I turn off the gas.

Turning off the gas supply valve to the apartment is a matter of several minutes, and the likelihood of unforeseen situations decreases many times.

3. I organize drip irrigation of indoor plants.

First of all, I remove the flowers from the windowsill and put them on the floor.

Darkening slows down the life processes in plants, and they will consume less water.

Then I will organize the simplest drip irrigation for them.

I put a basin of water on a small stool and pots of flowers on the floor next to it. I twist the wicks from the medical bandage.

One end of wick I put it in a basin of water, and the other end Sprinkle a little earth in a flower pot. The irrigation system is ready.

4. I take money and important documents with me.

You can, of course, hide them in the apartment in a safer way, but I take them with me (it’s safer).
