Beetroot is a popular vegetable crop in vegetable gardens. This vegetable is loved and used for cooking various dishes. Beets are rich in vitamins and minerals.

To get a bountiful harvest of high-quality root crops, it is necessary to take into account the biological characteristics of beets when growing, and know some secrets of good yield.

An insufficient amount of nutrients in the soil and non-observance of their ratio will affect the taste of beets. I draw your attention to the fact that the acidity of the soil can also affect the quality of the crop, which will lead to a violation of the supply of nutrients.

Effective feeding methods

I was convinced that it is impossible to get a record harvest of beets without feeding. Therefore, take the time and pay special attention to this. I will share my experience.

My advice is as follows:

· Plan liquid types of dressings during the period of active growth of beets. It falls on the month of July;

· Choose organics, which are well quail, and mineral fertilizers;

· Keep in mind that excessive enthusiasm for organics will lead to the growth of greenery, and not root crops;

· Do mineral dressing immediately after thinning the beds. To do this, use ammonium nitrate, potassium sulfate, superphosphate in equal proportions. 15 g of each mineral must be diluted in 5 liters of water;

· For the second feeding, use potassium-phosphorus fertilizers.

A good way to grow nitrate-free beets is with organic fertilizers. I use bird droppings. It contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium in an ideal ratio.

To prepare top dressing, I add 1.5 kg of chicken manure to a bucket of water. The mixture ferments for 10 days and is diluted to the desired consistency.

It is necessary to water the aisle with chicken droppings so that it does not fall on the leaves of the plant. This is the first feeding that I do when 3-4 leaves appear.

For the second feeding, 14 days after the first, I use wood ash. It is a good source of potassium. I sprinkle 1 glass of ash on an area of ​​1.5 sq. m. This work must be done before watering the plants.

I replenish the sodium with saline, at the rate of 15-20 g of salt per bucket of water. Saline solution increases the sweetness of beets, eliminates bitterness, is a preventive measure against parasites and improves the safety of root crops. I recommend doing the saline treatment 2-3 times throughout the season.

I also use boric acid. I am preparing a solution at the rate of 1 teaspoon of boric acid for 2 buckets of water. This solution is enough for 12 sq. m. This feeding accelerates the development of root crops.
