How to cut a nut with a screwdriver. A way for a hopeless case
The method helped me out more than once, and now it did it perfectly well, you can even saw through the shackle with it. The whole secret is in the tool attachment, but first things first.
Installation case
They asked me to install a new mixer on a ceramic sink, it didn't seem tricky, I took off the old one, installed a new one, but it didn't work. He had a stuck clamping nut, there is a recess in the sink that prevents you from grabbing it with a key. Okay, I think, I'll take it off along with the sink and crawl, took it off, but the fasteners did not move, I need to cut it off, but the grinder cannot crawl.
I remember that I always have a shaft from the angle grinder with me, on which the disks are attached. He took it off the broken tool, fastened it together with the disk to the drill, and where it was necessary to crawl up, cut off, he always helped out. On the drill, the revolutions are regulated, the cut occurs with practically no sparks, the only drawback is that this mode quickly "eats" the disc.
And here I decided to do with a screwdriver, held it with both hands and sawed, at first one edge of the nut, it did not help, then I sawed off the second one, and it fell off, freeing the sink from the old mixer. Since cutting on ceramics is always a risk, I used low speed, and the sink remained intact.
When for the first time demonstrated this method, ran into criticism, that they say it is dangerous, but I work at my own peril and risk in glasses. Moreover, on a drill and a screwdriver at low speeds, and never broke a disk, not like on a grinder. So, as on, if necessary I will use this method.
