I share the secret of 3 must-have rules, Thanks to which Tomatoes do not crack.

Surely many gardeners have come across the fact that tomatoes, which have been diligently looked after since the beginning of the season, presented an unpleasant "surprise" at the time of pouring with maturity, namely, they cracked. So the labors are ruined!

I almost cried with grief for the first time, and then, having studied the botanical literature about this nightshade culture, I realized what 3 golden rules can prevent this for the future.

Watering

You can calculate exactly how much water is needed per square meter. m. planting a specific variety, but be mistaken with the timeliness of watering. You need to monitor the soil, not allowing it to dry out, and if you watched, you need to water the tomatoes in 2-3 approaches with an interval of several hours.

The fact is that during a period of drought, these vegetables absorb water at a monstrous speed - they just poured it under the root and almost immediately it rushes up.

Before the start of the formation of fruits, this is not scary, but then the tomatoes may simply not withstand the pressure of moisture - the cells of the pulp swell from it, while the skin is not able to stretch so quickly and therefore bursts. If the soil is kept moist, the crop will slowly consume water during irrigation.

Air temperature

The optimal air temperature for fruit ripening is +22... 25 ° С. If tomatoes are grown in a greenhouse that is not equipped with a climate control system, the air on a sunny summer day can warm up in it to +40... 50 ° С.

A monstrous figure! In the heat, tomatoes stop developing, and their skin coarsens. Consequently, when conditions return to favorable, the fruits begin to plump and the skin devoid of elasticity bursts.

That is why if the weather forecast promises to be hot, I will definitely open the windows in the greenhouse and stretch the mesh material over the bushes for shading.

Fertilizers

The fact that at the beginning of the growing season tomatoes need phosphorus and nitrogen, and during the formation of fruits - in potassium, this is a well-known classic of their agricultural technology.

But it is extremely important to add potassium in low concentration solutions. And this indicator should be extremely low for greenhouse vegetables, which assimilate nutrients about 10-15% faster than planting in open ground.

When too much potassium is supplied to ripening tomatoes at one time, they actively crack. Plus, every application must be combined with regular watering.
